Delivering the love
FROM SPEEDY WITH LOVE
COURIER COMPANY SPEEDY FREIGHT DELIVERS VALENTINE’S DAY GIFTS TO PARK VIEW RESIDENTIAL HOME IN MORECAMBE
Today, (Tuesday 9th February 2021) Speedy Freight is helping spread the love by treating residents at the Park View care home in Morecambe to Valentines’ Day care packs.
Since the last 12 months have been especially difficult for the elderly in isolation, Speedy Freight Office Manager Emily Tudhope and her 5-year-old son, Sam, decided to arrange a special Speedy Freight delivery to spread cheer and put a smile on resident’s faces on the most loving day of the year.
All residents will receive a box of chocolates and a beautiful potted plant to go in their room. To accompany the gifts will be personalised Valentine’s Day cards, hand-written and decorated by Sam Clarke, who likes to go by the nickname ‘SpiderSam’.
As Speedy Freight has branches and depots right across the UK, it’s important to local teams that they are able to support their local communities. Each Speedy Branch partners with a local community project, and the Lancaster team have been helping keep morale high in Park View since before Christmas, and plan to keep up with spirit lifting letters and treats.
Residents at Park View were delighted to see the Emily and her son just before Christmas when Emily and Sam delivered a box of festive treats to residents. Once again, the delivery was accompanied by cards written and lovingly decorated by Emily’s son.
Emily Tudhope, office manager at Speedy Freight said: “We’ve been in some form of lockdown for so long, I think it’s easy to forget just how much harder it’s been for care home residents over the last year. Our branch oversees Blackpool, Bradford, Lancaster and Carlisle, so we’re always on the lookout for ways to help locals however we can.”
As Speedy Freight are a truly versatile courier company with a wide range of vehicles at their disposal, they have been able to support communities throughout lockdown. Given the various challenges in supply chains over the last year, Speedy Freight vans have had to take on a variety of loads to keep communities running, including medical equipment, PPE deliveries, fresh food and more.
