T’WAS THE MONTH BEFORE CHRISTMAS…

Now, Dasher! Now, Dancer! Now, Prancer & Vixen! On, Comet! On, Cupid, On Donner & Blitzen!… …And Rudolf!

As the country gears up to the busiest month of the year, national courier company Speedy Freight is bringing a little festive fun to the UK.  The distributor has launched an entire herd of vehicles named after Santa’s reindeer.

Transits, small vans and 12 tonne lorries bearing the famous namesakes will all be making deliveries in the UK and even in Europe from Thursday 3 December.

Keen spotters will have an entire month to catch a glimpse of these festive vehicles on the roads and if they’re quick enough to grab a snap, they can upload them using #SpeedyReindeer to be in for a chance of winning some special treats. Speedy Freight will be santa’s little helpers supporting businesses spanning all industries, including hospitality, and retail post the lockdown in England, and as tiered restrictions continue across the UK.

And, to kick the activity off, Speedy Freight has teamed up with the Gregg’s Foundation to celebrate some of the UK’s hidden heroes.  On Thursday 3 December, teachers at 26 schools across Newcastle received a tray of festive doughnuts as a special thank you for their tireless activity keeping breakfast clubs running during lockdown. Speedy Elf, and Newcastle General Manager Andrew Barrie gave his time to make the extra special deliveries.   The foundation is giving away over 7000 doughnuts to teachers across the country.

Burradon Primary School, was the first delivery of the day, one of 594 schools that the Greggs Foundation supports with its Breakfast Club, an initiative that provides an invaluable meal to over 39,000 kids across the UK. Whilst the 26 schools in Newcastle were surprised with a visit from ‘Rudolf’, the other 568 schools were not forgotten, and teachers there received special Greggs vouchers so they could pick up their tasty treats.

On supporting Greggs Foundation Breakfast Clubs, John Munnelly, Speedy Freight Operations Director said: “We always want to look for ways to support our local communities and the Breakfast Club is a fantastic initiative that does exactly that. Teachers have without a doubt been among the hidden heroes of 2020, so we wanted to help Greggs with these special deliveries to teachers in Newcastle and say thank you.”
