The Client
Our client is a nationwide distributor of pipeline, ventilation, and heating solutions, servicing a range of clients and establishments across the UK.
They serve a wide range of sectors, offering their clients bespoke solutions, including technical support and tool hire to help in the completion of their projects. They supply goods to a range of establishments including hospitals, schools, and commercial buildings.
The Consignment
Similar to Speedy Freight’s own nationwide network, our client has several branches across the UK, facilitating their distribution of products nationwide.
Our client needs to remain flexible to meet their customers' various requirements. Due to the size of their network, they’re able to supply products and tools quickly to various projects and construction sites across the UK. To do so, they often have to do quick and efficient stock transfers between branches.
They initially contacted our Speedy Freight Leicester team with a request to move crates of stock and tool hire equipment between their branches.
We’ve moved:
- Heaters, boilers, and water softeners
- Metal and plastic pipe systems
- Pumps and pumping equipment
- Pipes, ventilation and drainage solutions
- Insulation materials
We’ve also moved commercial tool hire equipment such as saws, benches, commercial vacuum cleaners, excavators, drilling equipment, and anything else you may ever see or need on a building site!
As speed was a key factor in choosing their courier service, they opted for our same day delivery service, booking a last-minute pickup and delivery on the same day.
The Challenges
As our client also runs their own fleet, delivering products to construction and building sites, we often get last-minute calls from our client when their drivers are ill or otherwise unavailable to complete their delivery jobs.
We’ve received calls from our client at all hours of the night, frequently between 11 PM and 2 AM, with requests for artics to deliver to various sites for 4 AM that same day.
With our 24/7 availability, we’ve been able to accommodate all our clients' requests, no matter what time they come in! This has been key to developing a great working relationship with our client, as they know we’re always there when they need us.
The Challenges
This particular job was carried out with such professionalism and dedication that Speedy Freight were rebooked on a repeat basis. As we deliver a wide range of materials that vary in size, shape, and quantity for our client, we’ve utilised everything from short wheelbase vans to artics for their delivery runs, and cab only when moving trailers full of stock between their branches.
Thanks to our access to a fleet of over 4,000 vehicles, we always have a vehicle on hand to meet our client’s unique transport needs.
We’ve since frequently moved stock back and forth between branches for our client, aiding them in maintaining their flexibility and retaining their customer satisfaction.
