What Are the Finance Awards North West?
The Finance Awards North West celebrate excellence across the profession and recognise organisations and individuals who are driving innovation, leadership and business performance. Being shortlisted across three categories was a fantastic achievement in itself, and we're incredibly proud to have been recognised with this prestigious award.
Recognising Transformational Change
Winning the Finance Transformation and Change award recognises the significant work undertaken to modernise and strengthen Speedy Freight's finance function.
Over recent years, the finance team has led an ambitious programme of transformation, introducing new systems, improving reporting capabilities, streamlining processes and creating greater visibility across the business. These improvements have enhanced operational efficiency while providing stronger financial insight to support strategic decision-making and future growth.
The award is recognition of a collective effort across the business and demonstrates how continuous improvement, collaboration and innovation can deliver meaningful, lasting results.

Being shortlisted across three award categories also reflects the strength, maturity and culture of Speedy Freight's finance function, built over several years under the dedicated leadership of Group Financial Controller, Hannah Edghill. Since joining as CFO, James Pugh has worked to build on those foundations, supporting the team in continuing to raise the bar, and further elevating the role that Finance plays at Speedy Freight.
