As many of the items we’ve delivered for our client are rented out for the length of their event, we are often tasked with the successful retrieval and pick up of these items once the event has come to an end.
We supply the outbound journeys during normal working hours for set up, but the breakdowns and return loads are usually during the early morning hours, which creates various challenges, especially with rigid vehicles.
The main challenges are around timings, meeting road crews on site and being there for the exhibition breakdowns at specific tight time windows with most of them in the early hours of the morning.
The fragility of the goods and their care in transporting is paramount, so ensuring all damage prevention in transit by the correct re-packaging and loading along with securing for transport is essential to its success. We often deliver high-value goods for our client that can be well into six figures, so safety is always essential.
