The Client
Our client is one of the UK’s largest articulated lorry and vehicle bodywork manufacturers.
Their product range includes box vans, temperature-controlled trailers, flatbeds, and curtain siders. As a leading manufacturer of specialist vehicles, their clients include major retailers across the UK and Europe who rely on their tailored expertise to transport their goods from one end of the country to the other.
The Consignment
Our client contacted our Speedy Freight Stoke team to deliver parts for artics, including frames for the trailer, rear doors, tail lifts and general spares and parts, loaded onto pallets.
To accommodate for the volume and size of shipments, we've booked vehicles of all sizes for our client, from small vans all the way up to artics, and occasionally flatbed vehicles.
Due to the time-sensitive nature of the deliveries, as they operate on a tight manufacturing schedule, they’ve exclusively used our same day delivery service to get their parts quickly so they can stay on track.

The Challenges
As we often deliver parts for artics, it means that some parts are the same size as the delivery vehicle that we would generally use to transport these types of large consignments. Therefore, it can be difficult to find vehicles capable of carrying the size of their consignments, as the external measurements of the parts are larger than the vehicle’s internal measurements.
We’ve managed this challenge thanks to our access to over 4,000 specialist vehicles, which allowed us to organise a flatbed capable of having a slight overhang to transport our client’s consignments safely and securely.
