Our client is a leading supplier of renewable energy products.
With a nationwide network consisting of multiple branches across the UK, they’re one of the leading suppliers of solar panels in the country.
Our client has been working with our Speedy Freight Manchester team to complete dedicated same day deliveries of solar panels.
The Consignment
We’ve delivered a range of products relating to the installation of commercial and domestic solar panels, which includes the solar panels themselves, the batteries and all associated fixings.
Our client has used our same day Manchester courier service to deliver quickly and efficiently to residential and commercial properties across the UK.
They’ve also utilised our overnight delivery service. When they book an overnight delivery with us, we collect their consignment at 4 PM, and deliver it to the contractors between 8-9 AM the next morning, ready to be installed on people’s homes or businesses.
The vehicles used for the jobs have included everything from small vans to artics, depending on the size and quantity of items to be delivered.
On some occasions, our client has required a specialist Moffett vehicle for their deliveries—which we’re quick to supply, thanks to our nationwide access to a fleet of over 4,000 vehicles.
The Challenges
When it comes to on-site delivery of materials, timing is always of the essence.
We pride ourselves on the speed and efficiency of our deliveries, but when it comes to on-site delivery, sometimes our drivers will get there, and the contractor will be late and not ready to accept the delivery.
In these cases, our drivers begin unloading the solar panels, while awaiting the arrival of the contractor.
As our deliveries are to a mix of residential and commercial properties, sometimes we’re not made aware of space and access limitations ahead of time, which sometimes makes access and unloading more challenging.
We’ve managed these challenges by getting to know our client’s unique needs. As we’ve completed more deliveries for our client, we’ve been able to anticipate and prepare for these types of challenges.
