About Our Team

Alistair McDonald is the Speedy Freight Sunderland branch manager, and also oversees Speedy’s regional same day courier services in Darlington and Teesside. He became a Speedy Freight franchisee in 2015, joining the logistics industry looking for a new challenge, having previously served as a close protection officer keeping diplomats and celebrities safe.

When he’s not solving logistics problems for Speedy customers, Alistair enjoys his football and is a fan of Middlesbrough FC. His favourite food is cottage cheese and Marmite sandwiches, and he’s the ‘self proclaimed’ leading brew maker in the Speedy Freight Sunderland office. Alistair is a family man, married with three children, and also has foster children.

Having spent 20 years in finance and marketing, Lisa Morris joined Speedy Freight Sunderland in 2017 in pursuit of a fresh challenge in a totally different industry. She is the Sunderland branch’s business development manager and helps to oversee our same day courier services in Teesside and Darlington, too.

Since joining the Speedy family, she has never looked back, saying: “It’s the best move I have ever made.” Outside of her role with Speedy Freight Sunderland, Lisa loves to spend time with her granddaughter, Willow Blossom, and her two beloved British Blue felines. She enjoys tucking into some fish and chips, too. Lisa is married and has two sons.

Daniel Hurst has a logistics background having worked as an operator, supervisor and in logistics planning in previous roles. He joined the Speedy Freight Sunderland team in July 2021, and enjoys helping customers solve logistics problems. 

When he’s not helping Speedy customers to plan delivery routes or find courier solutions, he’ll be travelling the country following his favourite football team, Middlesbrough FC.

Daniel is a family man too, with two children aged seven and three months. His favourite food is a Teesside Parmesan (also known as a Parmo). Daniel says: “If you have never tried one, get yourself to Middlesbrough and try it.”
